Nicky and her Nikon

View from Madrisa

It rained for most of the night and this morning when we woke up it was misty with very low cloud cover. However it soon cleared and by the time we had breakfast and our morning coffee at home, it was sunny and bright. We decided to go up Madrisa mountain and walk back down to the village. The village is in a valley with mountains surrounding it, and the side of this mountain facing the village is south facing so it is very sunny. We saw today that they have invested in so many solar panels up the top of this mountain, in addition to solar panels on top of the buildings flat roofs they are currently busy installing a bank of solar panels on the mountain edge too. We had a good walk, it is rather steep walking down and your legs certainly feel the strain by the time you get to the bottom.

Tommy has been in Cambridge for two weeks at a sort of conference, one has to apply by writing a paper to qualify to attend, and he is in geek heaven as he is meeting all the AI specialists in his field there. He is there with other colleagues from his lab.

Inca leaves today to go travelling in South America with some friends, she will be back at the end of August.

Almost two and half years ago I booked to go on a wildlife photography trip to South Luangwa in Zambia, and Gavin is joining me as a non photographer. I actually thought we were going in September 2024 but as the time approached I realised it was only taking place in September 2025, so I feel like I have been waiting forever to go on this trip! Anyway, tonight we have a zoom call arranged by the photo leader to go over any questions we may have and discuss the trip.

It was good weather all day today, tomorrow it is sunny again.
