a lifetime burning

Careful where you point that thing ...

I've not had the chance to check what this actually is, but I'm pretty sure that it is a Gasteruption species - which is a member of the wasp family - and that the very long needle like object is an ovipositor, rather than a sting.  There are 64 members of that species so it will take longer than I have this evening for me to try to work out which one this actually is.

I had a lovely ride on the Orange Crush today, and added another 60+ hilly twisty miles to the total to date, which has taken me up to just over the 600 mile running in target.  That is just as well, as my diary is pretty full between now and the service date, so I might only have one more day that I can actually get out on the bike to add some further miles.  So far, so good, as there have been no unexpected problems.  I'm not entirely convinced by the lack of a fuel gauge on the bike, being able to see the info on the phone is all well and good, but I'd still like to see it on the bike's display.  That aside she's great and I'm enjoying every minute.
