First sea swim this year

Ailie (known to Ella and Nathaniel as Granny 2) and I drove to Boulmer and parked then walked the 3.5 mile round trip to Sugar Sands. It had easy access from the coastal path for me. We had a lovely swim. No wet suits etc. It was “refreshing”.

I had booked us a table at the Fishing Boat Inn for lunch. We had well-filled crab sandwiches with chips and a salad garnish (£14 so better value than Craster) with a glass of white Rioja. We were able to sit outside as it was warm.

We had to rush back as the man was coming to put up the bathroom blinds but just as we arrived back he messaged to say his van had broken so we’ll have to rearrange for next week.

Mr C has gone in the bus to pick up the car in Cramlington where it’s getting its wheels fixed then on to get new tyres.

Ella and Nathaniel had excellent end of term reports. She got 1 for effort in every subject and very nice perceptive things said. Nathaniel got more 2s for effort than 1s and apparently “is working on” not distracting others! However he’s where he should be for most subjects and above for a few, the same as Ella. It’s her last day at Middle School. That went fast.
