Tinkle, Tinkle
The Dafu temple is home to the largest, indoor Sleeping Buddha in China and I have to admit it’s quite impressive. For one thing he’s got his eyes open and for another there’s a constant, background tinkling of bells from this clay tower just around the corner from his bed. But Buddhas are made of stern stuff!
We reneged on another planned trip (more monasteries though out in the country) as S tried to get over the lurgy so I slept late, breakfasted late, even did some laundry, before we strolled into the city centre. On the way we managed to find a couple of brollies, a couple of sun hats and a belt for me - all badly needed. After visiting the big guy we went in search of dumplings again and this time were successful. Soup with sixteen terrific, assorted dumplings for each of us kind of put the dampers on any more cultural visits so instead we hunted down the mobile phone district (harder than it sounds) and replaced our power banks. Until our next flight!
