Gently down the stream

Juveniles

I've really been enjoying spotting young birds in the last couple of months.  This is definitely a juvenile.  He was sitting on the wire giving out a few soft and rather worried 'peep, peep's as he waited for one or other of his parent birds to reappear.  And I think it's not a bird I've ever knowingly seen because surely it must be a juvenile linnet?  I don't know whether the matching background is good or bad, but that's samphire so really is this colour.

Anyway, you can see where I went this morning, a reward for the last two rather busy and mundane days.  Besides, now home I can tell you it's baking hot here and definitely cooler on the coast.

Oh, and the wire that various of my birds are perched on in their blips.  The large marsh bird reserve at Lymington is within the sea wall and surrounded by a reasonably wide channel of water and a wire fence to keep the dogs and foxes out.  Therefore, if you see small birds in that location they are normally perching on the wire or the posts!  I hope that makes sense!

Okay, I now have to go out again to help ... well you know how it is!

Take care and have a great evening  xx
