House Martins
If you look closely you can just see two little faces peeping out from this nest under the eaves at J and P's house.
We had an uneventful journey here, pausing for cuppas at Tebay which for once was busy but manageable. Who should be sitting in the cafe but D on his way to Lagganlia. After a sociable half an hour we were on the road again. J and P suggested a trip to the Douglas Bakery for a sausage roll lunch, followed by a fine walk around the Douglas Estate, taking in the lochan and Dangerous Castle, a ruined folly. We approached it tentatively but couldn't see anything dangerous about it. There was plenty of Nature to enjoy, several species of wildfowl; water lilies; a pretty pink flower the app identified as water gladiolus; damsel flies.
Back home, P and I achieved cricks in our necks watching the house martins tirelessly feed youngsters on both sides of the house.
