Chalk Hill Blue Butterfly on chives

Today was again a beautiful sunny day. We decided to drive around the mountain to Davos, where we got the gondola up Rhinerhorn mountain and then walked down to the tiny village of Monstein. It was a lovely hike, I enjoyed seeing all the wild flowers and butterflies, as can be seen here. I hope I have identified it correctly! I was very pleased to see some Martagon Lilies growing wild up in the mountains. We got to Monstein at about 1.30pm and decided to have lunch at The Ducan Restaurant which is now  a Guild restaurant, having just been approved by the Guild of Swiss Gastronomy - the food was delicious.

After lunch we got the bus back to where our car was parked at the carpark at Rhinerhorn. It is still very quiet here, and today the bus was a shrunken size of the usual one we get.

Much later at about 6.30pm Gavin and I went out for a cycle ride around the village and up the valley. It was such a beautiful evening and the light was just perfect.  We decided we did not want a big supper, we just had some snacks and melon. Gavin made us Hugo cocktails - they are very popular here, originating from Italy - prosecco, sparkling water, elderflower syrup and mint. In our case alcohol free prosecco as we are both not drinking alcohol at the moment (since Gavin's cancer diagnosis he is trying to keep his system free of harmful substances if he can).

Tomorrow Luke's closest friend is getting married, Luke is an usher at the wedding. Meriel is coming back from Paris to go to the wedding with Luke.
