Grape Grabbing
We got back from our time away to the table under the grapes covered in grape pips and bird droppings, in spite of the net we put above the vines... only way to have some grapes for ourselves is to harvest them, apart from the few we had covers for. The day since has been punctuated with cross trillings from the blackbird, raspy complaining from the magpies, and smaller birds darting under the net and out again. Obviously not impressed, even though we did leave some for them.
Pretty soon the green grapes will ripen and it will all begin again.
Gratefuls:
- Mike finding the source of our lack of water, basically rats gnawing the pipes up at the top, so he's started expanding our garden fence to try to move the trees that we planted up there, to down here, where hopefully the cats will keep the rats at bay
- this article I read today on what is basically my Blip philosophy: Why We're Required to Find Beauty, most especially when the world is aflame, thanks Tsh!
- the smell of my nut and seed mixture seeping through from the oven in the caravan
