Only 3 days to go...

We're in the last lap of the academic year. Students finished last week with the usual ceremonies on the one day a year I am to be seen wearing a dress at work. Jeans and t-shirts are my usual work wear at the moment - it's varied on my role/cohort of students over the years, but my workplace is one where we acknowledge practical, casual clothing works best for most of us working directly with students. No, there is no photo evidence of this dress wearing... sorry about that.

Several of my students have enjoyed the ducks at my computer this year. The pyramids somehow took up residence after a lesson on 3D shapes and the cocktail umbrella after a few weeks project around making mocktails (a mixture of data handling, reading scales, and measuring out liquids.) One of the leavers who came to say good bye wanted to know if the ducks were reflecting my end of term exhaustion and was I going on holiday soon! I could acknowledge the truth in the exhaustion but had, sadly, to remind them staff still had a week to go before holidays.

I've been mostly deep in the depths of sorting departmental paperwork and date in the form of spreadsheets ready for next year. We'll appreciate the work come the new year, but I've been avoiding screens out of main work time.
