Flower and bee

For Flower Friday.
A hot, humid day.  We looked after Simone briefly in the morning, while Marianna went to a hospital appointment. When she came to pick Simone up, we had time for a cup of tea and a chat - a bonus.
And it's Frieda's 6th  birthday! So we went over to Jack and Marianna's house at teatime, to spend some time with her and to drop off her birthday present (a Playmobil campsite set - she's a big fan of Playmobil). She'll be having a party tomorrow, so there'll be a bigger celebration then. 
Later we went to Vito's, our local Italian restaurant, for a quiet meal together. It wasn't busy; as Vito said, 'the hot weather kills business'. The upside of this, for us, was that he had time to sit and chat with us. Over the years we've got to know him well, and he's full of entertaining stories when you catch him at a good moment.
