Sika deer
Today we walked through a primeval forest in the Shiretoko National Park. It was so lovely, with just a bit of rain falling through the canopy. The rain belonged there. We saw several deer along the way, including a few on the steep slopes of the coastal cliffs. Those in my main were closer to the road at the end of the walk, reflecting their long legs in the puddle. Imagine, they were named after my cat!
My first extra is the view of the cliffs and headlands of the peninsula and the unusually calm Sea of Okhotsk. My second and third extras are sights in the village around our hotel, where we took a walk this afternoon.
Tomorrow we leave this magical place and head south to Lake Akan. Happy rest of the weekend.
