Saturday: Church Fete
K and I were saying recently how little it had rained since we returned to the UK in October. Today we finally had some rain and it was very welcome.
This afternoon we paid a visit to our local church fete. Well……….I have to say it was amusingly dire. We paid £1 to guess the number of jelly beans in the jar, and bought a £10 jar of honey, sold to us as being local by a man posing with his hive and beekeeping equipment, only for us to read the label when we got home and discover it originated somewhere near Andover. The whole thing put us in mind of Craggy Island’s Funfair (for the Father Ted fans among us).
Luckily there was a food truck so we could string out our visit a little.
To cope with the excitement of the fete we headed to ‘The London Apprentice’ this evening for a drink in a different environment, only to bump into half the local community there.
Blip is the church door. Try as I might, there wasn’t anything exciting to photograph at the fete.
