Morris Dancers Braving High Peak Rain…

… You can’t really see the rain in the picture but trust me, it was the ‘sea mist’ wet kind. They must have been fed up (and one can only imagine their soaked outfits steaming throughout the rest of the day).

I love a Morris Dance.
But I’d only nipped out for some provisions.

Provisions.
As I wrote ‘provisions’ I was mind-tricked into recalling a weird ‘shop’ called ‘The Providore’ at Beaudesert (Girl Guide Camp). A large echoey wooden shed I think. (In a ‘The Waltons’ kind of way?). I’m sure it must have been full of lovely things to buy but my memory is of vast shelves containing a couple of bags of jelly babies, a bag of crisps and some scout badges. (Not enough sustenance for hungry Girl Guides who’d been digging latrines at any rate).

All together now, ‘those were the days’..
