Rain, Tomatoes and Bats
Finally we’ve had some rain - one centimetre over night - which brought a fresher morning. With the warm weather we’ve been eating lots of salad so I popped over to the Saturday morning vegetable shop at Tuppenny Barn to get some supplies. I treated us to some of the heritage tomatoes I’ve been tending on my volunteering sessions and have enjoyed them with both lunch and dinner today. Later I sowed more seeds - beetroot, spring cabbage, and salad leaves.
I forgot to note that a couple of evenings ago a bat flew into the house. It must have entered by the back door, flown into the hall and into the sitting room where it did three circles of the room, then left via the French door which Andy had opened. We get pipistrelle bats in the garden but this bat was larger and flew more slowly. Andy says it was flying low over his head in the garden the previous evening. Since the we’ve shut the back door once it is dark!
