Poplars
We travelled by bus - the train was fully booked - for a mini-break in Canberra, the national capital. Poplars featured on the way down, either side of watercourses and lining the gravel roads leading to out-of-sight wineries, old homesteads and nouveau riche estates. I always associate them with the approaches to country towns.
Canberra is not as cold as expected.
