Greyface Dartmoor sheep at Biggar Show 2025

Mr hazelh, Bella and I had a grand time at Biggar Show today. Having examined the weather forecast on three different apps, we spent 10:15 to 13:30 at the show ground. This meant that we only suffered one short heavy shower mid-morning while we were there. Lucky for us (but not nadinepierce), we were all safely back in the comfort of Bella and David's house when the rain took charge of proceedings for the rest of the afternoon.

At the show ground we indulged in the usual agricultural show activities. These included viewing the livestock (Dartmoor sheep blipped), watching the judging, sampling local fare for sale, marvelling at the high standards of riding, peering into the highland dancing tent, listening to the pipe band, thinking of my Somerset farming cousins when passing the vintage tractor display, and examining the competition entries in the industrial tent. We also enjoyed a couple of visits to the craft tent, stopping to chat there with nadinepierce. I even had a go at playing stall holder for a short while; I managed to keep some potential customers on site for a sale when nadinepierce returned to base <so proud>.

We spent the rest of the day at the house lounging and chatting, and playing Catan. Bella emerged Catan champion.

Meanwhile in Newcastle my not-so-little sister has been released from hospital - phew!

Exercise today: small amount of walking.
