So much sense . . .

I had to have this facility explained to me.  This is a self service mat and rug washing facility beside the lake in Jyvaskyla in Finland. 

People bring their heavy mats and rugs here to wash them in the stainless steel tubs (in the distance in this photo) with  water which is pumped on-site from the lake (beyond the trees).

They then put them through the adjacent heavy duty hand-wringers and throw them over the drying racks photographed here. 

In 3-4 days they are dry and ready for collection.  Obviously it's a summer service only !
