Behind the scenes

Backblip
Another hot day and we went into Ambleside for a second breakfast (pancakes, bacon and maple syrup) before going to the prizegiving for the 55k and 100k Ultras - I think they all deserved prizes just finishing.
Before the prizes were handed out Pete Lashley (singer/songwriter and runner who'd abandoned his race on Saturday because of the heat) entertained us whilst we were under a nice shady tree.
I don't have good pics of the prizewinners but here are some of the mainly volunteers who make sure these races happen. There's a lot of work goes into an event with 4 races totalling nearly 200k in distance going over hills and trails so they deserve the applause they get. There were also a lot more people who helped with registration, marshalling etc.
Back at the campsite a mix of reading and a short walk down the valley this time - still stifling even walking.
The extra is the view at bedtime.
