Garden sweet peas

It's looking increasingly as if the St Swithin's Day prediction might prove correct. While the weather was not bad on 15 July, in most places there was some rain. Well, there's certainly been plenty of rain over the weekend, across most of the UK. It was tipping it down biblically when I left the rented cottage this morning, having seen my grand daughter only on screen, and not in real life (see extra) (except a glimpse through the bedroom door as I went downstairs). She stayed upstairs with her mum for her awake period before the first nap, as her dad ran around packing stuff. So no farewell cuddles which is sad as I don't know when I will see her next.

I got away as early as I could, partly to make life simpler for them in terms of packing the other two cars, sorting out the cottage and deciding how to use their day. My course was set. Having finally managed to get my phone mirrored on the screen of the car, I used maps to get me to the petrol station closest to Bristol airport, which was a bit chaotic, not least with bikers. After that, over to the car return place, and then the shuttle to an overcrowded terminal building, but luckily the security queue was not too bad. I put earbuds in, read a book, and ignored the crowd.

My flight took off about an hour late and landed similarly. But it was a very easy walk across from the terminal to the short stay car park and an easy drive home. I opened Facebook on the plane when we landed only to see that apparently the A9 was closed north of the Tore roundabout after an accident. Not again, I thought. But in fact, by the time I got there it was open again and the run through to Tain was smooth.

It's muggy and humid up here, and the sweet peas have been burgeoning, and I'm pretty tired after the weekend. But it was a good time getting to know EAJS better and making myself useful.
