Caught
Having largely escaped the rain yesterday, today it catches up with us. G is supposed to be on a section of the Anglesey Coastal Path, but looking at the forecast, he and his brother decide to cancel. To be honest, I think a quiet day will do him good.
In reality, the thunder storms do not hit Colwyn Bay, and by early afternoon we decide to risk a walk in RSPB Conwy. It’s quite warm and humid, though certainly not sunny.
I’m hoping for dragonflies- but perhaps without the sun, this is too optimistic. Looking over the reed beds, I keep spotting what I presume to be reed warblers, but they’re just too quick for me, perching momentarily where I can see them, then disappearing into the heart of the bed where their position can only be guessed at by the movements of the reeds above them.
I’m quite prepared to persist with this game of hide and seek, but at this point the heavens open and we dash for shelter. The rain is torrential so we’re quickly soaked.
It’s time to go home - and I’m very pleased I’ve spotted this tiny feathery seed caught on a reed stem above the water - my blip today.
