Construction and some
detours dictate my routes in
my early mornings
~carliewired
I was on my way to Riverside Park in the downtown before 5:30. I wanted to be over the bridge and back before the morning rush. There is work underway on the bridge deck so traffic is constricted and traffic flow has been greatly affected.
I parked by the tennis courts to have a walk up the Rivers Trail towards the bridge. I stopped midway to get a shot of the bridge and its tangle of work vehicles with flashing lights already on site.
I got my big view of my mountains and the rivers' confluence. I was too early to catch the sun peeking over.
I found a very spritely squirrel collecting cones at the bas of a pine tree. It was making a pile a the base from those on the ground. Then, it ran up into the tree to knock others down for the collection. I couldn't get more than one shot of this active fellow.
I found one marmot at the bottom of the Celtic Stones. All others were spread out over the grass devouring the greens.
I passed by the rose garden but stopped at one of the city's planters to find an abundance of petunias.
I managed to get myself back across the bridge heading for home before 6:30. I'm home for the day with my feet up.
