A Kirkwall Wedding
It’s certainly payback time for the recent glorious weather, but far be it from me to complain as the weather (warm haar and rain)has not stopped the enjoyment of spending time here.
I kitted myself out in my sexy stinger suit this morning and the jelly fish fled in fear and trembling at the sight although one laggard may have attacked SelkieHeather. I think she is not too badly stung.
I’m sure the water must have been about 17° and we had a wonderful swim in clear water and a high tide.
My adopted Selkie daughter,WendyS who was driving to Kirkwall this morning, gave me a hurl through and we breakfasted royally at Archive Coffee, Kirkwall’s answer to Söderberg. If I thought it was misty in Stromness, I was amazed at the thick haar on the journey through. However it had thinned in Kirkwall and it was so airless and warm that the bride in my photo had not one goosebump.
The rain began shortly after getting home and it’s not looking pleasant outside. I was intending to walk to Selkie Heather’s house on the hill for tea and acquaint myself with some cooked chicken, but she has magnanimously offered to pick me up.
I must be ready ……..
