The Sweetest Peas
Today has mostly been a cleaning and food shopping day. TYM is at home with me on Mondays so he helps, by pushing a mini-trolley around the supermarket and adding bits in. His is especially fond of the fresh bread aisle and I can't blame him! Mr PP (Dad) helped me as I still can't drive following my operation... or move quickly after a toddler for that matter!
When we got home TYM had a lovely long nap and I managed to do a bit in the garden. I wish I could upload how beautiful these sweet peas smell, but you'll just have to make do with how pretty they look! I grew them from seeds PP had saved, and planted on some seedlings she'd started... so to see them flower has brought me no end of joy.
I've never had any luck with growing sweet peas before, and they're one of my favourite flowers, so this feels extra special. I struggle (like most) with slugs eating anything I attempt to grow, so this time I tried putting old coffee grinds down. I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but I'm happy to confirm that it has! I shall be spreading more near my other plants from now on.
