Take away
I was up before 8 and did some admin stuff. #2 son messaged me just after 9, already in the 5th tee at Royal Dornoch. J came through after 10 and we went down to the Manor. After a while I got the bus to the dentist and had the wobbly bridge stuck back in but it will need a permanent solution.
It had been overcast when I got up but by noon the sun was out and it was really hot. I was definitely overdressed. Popped in to say hi to K and D on the way past before walking down the hill to pick up J.
Back home we had lunch in the garden, sandwiches, and talked about this and that including our various trips to Bali. It got cloudy and there were a couple of ominous rolls of thunder and a lot of black cloud.
About 4 J went back to her billet for a snooze and I deadheaded the roses at the back before the drips of rain started. Back inside I finished sending the info to the Signals Museum and then started to research and plot a journey round Scotland after the Festival. It was definitely raining outside but not too much, but still good for the grass.
The family were on the Lumo home and all was well till Newcastle when it started to run late then later and later. I drove in well after 7 but I still had to wait ages in a crowded pick up area. Eventually it was 41 minutes late so at least they get the delay repay. At least it was dry outside.
Home we put in a huge food order from down the road, I think they got carried away with the Scottish Chinese food on offer, that you can't get in KL, and WH and I collected it, after 9.
A late dinner and a lot of catching up and reminiscences. J hasn't seen them family for over 11 years, the year we went to Cambodia together.
It was almost 11 before we tidied up and everyone toddled off to bed.
