What a bloody day!
Well not all day. It started well with our usual Monday of Click and Collect , always between 8-9am as it’s free, our Octoplus Nero Moment, lunch sitting outside at the table in the garden.
Then around d 2pm there were some large splodges of rain, then it became heavy splodges. The sky was grey and no wind.
Well this was the start of two hours of incessant heavy rain which seemed to be localised over a certain area of Perth as my neighbour works in Friarton area and there was no rain there when we had multitudes.
We both donned our waterproofs, mine not really waterproof as I found two hours later when I stripped off as was soaked to the skin.
It was a case of sloshing the water away from the front door , Hopi g that it did t come up the shower drain like it did in the last big rainfall in the night of an August day in 2020.
We used the snow shovels to move it round the side of the house. It was coming up the drain we have as the front of the house, piling down the driveway from the street as we sit at the bottom of a wee hill. The condie at the top of our drive was blocked (hmmm).
I’m glad I’ve been doing strength training on my arms as it was constant for these two hours. There was lots of localised flooding. Lidls on the Glasgow road was bad as water was pouring out of a drain near them.
Anyway, we stopped the water getting into the house, and sat down with a cuppa after showering and thought about just how much water fell in these two hours.
Was exhausted by 9:30 and went to bed and slept very well, funny that…..
Ps S went to B and q and we now have a supply of sandbags and a new big brush.
