Flying tonight
A not entirely successful day. I had to take W into Norwich to catch the 8.30 train into London. Knowing that the sensor on my Canon needs cleaning and that I need a replacement lens for my Olympus I contacted Wex in Norwich a couple of days ago to make an appointment, as their website suggested it would be required. I got a quick email back from the assistant manager saying that I should just call in after 9am today and they would do everything whilst I waited. I duly arrived at the shop just after 9am to find they don’t open until 10am on Tuesdays.
I wasn’t going to hang around for an hour so I headed off. Back home I was expecting two deliveries; one from Amazon and one from John Lewis but using Evri as the courier. The Amazon delivery turned up about 4pm but I’m still waiting for Evri and as I have to go out soon to collect W from Norwich, I can’t see it arriving. Why is it always Evri? Evri delivery a disaster…..
Of course, as I was waiting for deliveries I couldn’t really go out. However, this USAF Hercules flew low over the house so I got a shot. We get one or two of these circling around two or three times a week, and if you hear one and track it on Flightradar you can be ready with the camera if it looks like it is coming overhead. I once contacted the Air Force help line to say I wasn’t complaining about the planes; in fact, quite the opposite as I like seeing them but wondered why they fly low around North Norfolk so frequently. I got back what was clearly a standard response to people complaining about aircraft noise!
