Half hidden Hoy (Day 3729)
A later start this morning, and first job was a look at a heating system not working. The boiler was a very old coal fired stove and the customer thought the pump wasn't working. Apparently last night a load of the house fuses blew and the heating stopped working. I confirmed that the pump wasn't stuck, but couldn't check anything else because I know nothing about solid fuel boilers. I suggested a few people who might be able to help and headed off.
Next job was changing the fill valve in a filthy toilet. I really don't understand why people think it is ok to get someone to work on a toilet that is covered in piss. The floor was rank too.
Back home to get changed and throw all my clothes in the washing machine, then out for a short wander with Sigyn in the sunshine.
After lunch my beautiful wife headed to Stromness, planning to ride, but thick drizzle when we got there put us off. We got the field chores done as the rain stopped, and it was good to spend a bit of time in the sunshine with the herd.
