Cone Flower
I started the day joining the standing meditation class I began last week. As we worked through the four positions, holding each for five minutes, it was interesting to feel how my left arm tired more quickly than my right arm. I imagine it’s because I’m right handed I have more strength in that side.
Then I went off to volunteering. Again we worked together in a small group and all agreed we enjoyed this way of doing things as we could see a significant difference for our efforts and chat as we carried out our tasks. These echinacea near to where we were working have come into full flower in the last few weeks and were being visited by lots of bees.
Later this afternoon I made a couple of cakes - a lemon and blueberry sponge, and cranberry flapjacks. They are for family we are expecting to arrive tomorrow.
I made a return to tai chi this evening, joining an online class taught by a couple of ex-colleagues who have now qualified as teachers of tai chi. I was surprised how quickly I remembered the moves, but also noticed how awkwardly I moved. Hopefully I’ll be able to continue the class. It felt a calming way to round off the day.
Hoping all is well with you.
