Himalayan balsam

My honeybees have been completely into their hives covered in white pollen, from the Himalayan balsam down the lane.
There are some considerable banks of it, and it is such a vigorous plant that it smothers other flowers. 
We did try and pull it up when it first became noticeable, but it has become an impossible task around here. One of our neighbours seems to enjoy having it, and she has the beck flowing through her property. Watercourses help the seeds to spread.
It is a good source of nectar for honeybees and bumblebees at this time of year when other flowers are declining so I suppose we will have to accept it.
