Calm After The Storm- Clee Burf

A late/ backblip from yesterday, due to circumstances beyond my control.

Some excitement too.

In the morning I got stung on the foot by a wasp. I was barefoot and the wasp meant business. I tried to kick it off but it was attached to my foot by the sting. It would not let go. My wife was amused to see me doing an Native Indian war dance - although the sounds and expletives were not quite the same.

It hurt. A lot. It still hurts today but the swelling has subsided.

The wasp got away.

In the afternoon there was an incident outside our gates. I would go so far as to describe it as a road rage incident. Two cars. Two drivers, both male and testosterone was in clear evidence. There were threats to kill, threats of physical violence, there was vein popping rage and red faced anger. It was quite exciting and potentially very serious.

I could not resist getting involved and calmed things down with my usual placatory manner. Surely calm collected conversation is better than blood letting, broken bones and recriminations.

In the event the police were called as there was a suspicion of alchohol usage or drink driving. The police arrived took statements but decided not to take action. They did not have a breatherlyser kit on board (!) so could not do anything other than issue cautions and send the warring parties on their way.

I confess I have never seen such in-your-face anger and hate. I have never seen such so much spittle and bile and unrestrained venom. And that coming from a married man!

Anyway, it got sorted, all was eventually returned to peace and calm and I eventually got to enjoy a pleasant and recuparative walk along the Dale with Hollie.

And this morning a kindly neighbour told me my my actions were heroic!  I dont think so, but it did make me laugh!
