A teeny bit better

She’s used up another of her nine lives for sure, I thought I was going to lose her. Today she’s purred, cuddled and eaten enough to get her medicine . (She’s not allowed to have it on an empty stomach and must eat a minimum of 1/4 of her normal diet to be given it- which is stressful and difficult for her human). She says she doesn’t mind me showing you her tummy, shaved for the ultrasound scan. At least it’s got rid of some of those knotty locks (see extra).
I spent much of the day cancelling my holiday in Cornwall next week. Can’t leave a poorly cat - even though she seems to be on the mend, fingers crossed, she needs care, meds, more vet tests possibly. As they still don’t actually know what was wrong…. I was amazed to get a complete refund of my accommodation, which will go towards the vet bills. And the friends I was going to see - a carefully planned day with each friend - all completely understood.
Sitting in the garden with Portia was compatible with reading my book group book - A Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. He’s certainly a really good writer.
