Down at the harbourside
Lots happening, and lovely sunshine. A clockwise circuit with my friend S, who now lives down there. We were looking down at the new pontoon, which, it is hoped, will provide a space for otters. Across the water you can see the masts of the SS Great Britain. And to the right, the famous coloured houses of Clifton Wood. In the floating harbour a group of young kayakers, on a school holiday scheme I imagine, having great fun, and getting along at quite a speed. They’re pretty young but seem competent with their paddles:)
In the afternoon was the second meeting of the newly created reading group. I’m so happy about it, they’re all lovely women, and we had an interesting and in depth discussion of A Sense of an Ending. Just what I hoped for.
Portia ate more than half of her meals today. And seems much better. Waiting for the results of tests. She’s purring quite a lot
