Loud protest with saucepans
Early evening down on the centre. A parallel action alongside the mass saucepan banging at Downing street, and other places too I believe. Because saucepans are empty in Gaza. I have to say I banged mine so hard with my metal potato masher that I dented it. A great way to express some of the anger raging inside.
It was good to see a big presence of Jewish people there, and I’ve shown two of their banners in the main blip. In my extra I’ve shown the placard of a very frail elderly woman I talked to. Her parents died in Auschwitz. I decided to crop down to the placard as I didn’t have her permission to put her picture online, although she was happy for me to take a photo. After the very informative and inspiring speakers were done, and people started to mingle, or drift away, a young violinist started to play some haunting and beautiful klezmer music. Which was a perfect ending
