Pipe Aston
Into Ludlow early this morning to drop our daughter off at the start of the 30 mile Mortimer Trail. We then did our own, modest after yesterday's exertions, eight mile walk around the north western side of the Mortimer Forest. We stopped at the tiny church of St Giles in Pipe Aston which is said to be more or less unchanged since the 12th century, although in the 13th century the wall paintings were added. I was amused by a note inside the church saying that Pipe Aston has only 24 inhabitants. That makes it more than three times larger than where we live!
