Ferry to Itchenor
Today we travelled to Bosham to take the little passenger ferry over the water to Itchenor. It’s only a five minute crossing but the ferry is also used by boaters as a means to reach their yachts moored in the channel. Fortunately for us, on both the way out and return journey we were treated to a longer journey up and down the harbour area to drop people off at their boats. It was busy out on the water including some beautiful wooden boats to admire.
Merlin hasn’t been on the water before so we were interested to see what he made of the experience. We were pleased to see he very much enjoyed it, even stepping up onto the seat to get a better view of the water and all that was going on around him - see Extra.
Over at Itchenor we did a short walk along the coastal path towards West Wittering and had lunch at a cafe on the waterfront. The weather was overcast and breezy but the view down the channel was good enabling us to see the Isle of Wight to the south, the Spinnaker Tower in Old Portsmouth to the west, and the gentle rolling South Downs to the north.
Back home we relaxed in the garden with tea and cake. I feel I now need a walk to wake up myself!
Hoping your day has been a good one.
