The Day After
Despite the exhaustion I woke early and couldn't really get back to sleep again. When I got up about 8 Olivia was up but no sign of anyone else, though washing had been done. I hung it out.
J came round and #2 son and S arrived about half 9 to pick up the car and we sat and chated till they left heading for the Kelpies. There was then some confusion. I though we were all (except WH) going into town but turned out it was just 4 of us. Once that was sorted J and I and the girls set off for the Museum.
We did dome of the Scottish bit, the rooftop terrace, some late lunch and then the engineering ground floor with lots of interactive stuff. They loved it.
We left via the gift shop about 4.30 and then went to Greyfriars graveyard. The earlier low cloud had lifted, the sun had come out and it was a lovely afternoon. But so touristy. We had a walk round there and they had a run around too, then down to the Grassmarket for some more gory tales and fought our way through the tourists up Victoria Street. It was busy.
We were all meeting for a meeting in the Outsider. Food is good, if pricy but service was slow. We skipped dessert for an ice cream on the way home. Walked through the university which was being set up for the Frjnge and back across to Nicolson St. #1 son walked home. The rest of us took a #7.
It was still light and fairly warm when we got back and the girls were hyper with all that sugar.
