Dolly's Day

A lovely place to sit

Mike and Becky were working from home today as usual and Astrid was at holiday club so I made a slow start and walked to Northallerton by myself . Weather was lovely....... warm and sunny.  One of my purchases was some Factor 50 sun cream as I need to be careful in the sun whilst taking antibiotics.

I had a good mooch around the shops.  Bought 2 pairs of trousers, some toiletries (to leave at Beckys house) and some snacks. Best buy was in a charity shop in the bargain basket.  A large full bottle of Jo Malone perfume for £1. I checked online later and bought new it would cost £122! It smells gorgeous.

Sat on a bench for a rest and after a few mins a chap sat to the right of me.  He said nothing.  Then another chap sat on my left.  He was an old man and as he sat down he said "I wish I could die on this bench....... I'm sick  of living....... had enough of life.. I've had a stroke.  I want to die. " So I said that I hoped he wouldn't die while I was sitting there.  He said he hoped he would.  He dropped something and I reached to pick it up but he snapped at me that he didn't need any help  or fuss and he  just wanted to die. So I made a quick exit.  Very strange encounter.  Must be terrible to be in such a mindset that you don't want to live any more.

Later on I sat on one of the benches in my blip.  It's a lovely area full of beautiful flowers.   And no one sat near me.

Becky and Mike were still working when I got back so I had a coffee and some of Astrids birthday cake. Mike went to get Astrid from holiday club at 3.30pm.  We played with the train set while Becky and Mike carried on working

Mike cooked gnocchi for our tea. And we finished off the birthday cake.

Watched some of The Tour De France before bedtime.  Chester is on my bed again.  He's a lovely boy with the loudest purr.
