Dolly's Day

Flower Friday

Another fun filled day.  Mike was working from home as usual but Becky doesn't work on Fridays and Astrid wasn't at holiday club so we followed their usual routine.  Left the house at 9.30am and walked to the library for storytime.  A librarian read 3 books and then there were bubbles.

Astrid checked in the books she was returning... 20 of them - and then we went to choose more books to take home.... another 20 were checked out.  Astrid loves books.  Apart from library books she has lots of books of her own.

In my Extra you can see a wonderful elephant which we saw in the library. It was created by local schoolchildren

After the library we walked to the High Street and stopped off for a coffee in Hotel Chocolat.  We struck lucky as they were handing out free chocolates so we had one each. Delicious. Then Becky had a look round the charity shops.  After playing with the bubbles in the library Astrid was keen on having her own bubble machine so I popped into The Works and got her one shaped like a unicorn.  She likes unicorns. Then we headed to  M & S for a bit of food shopping.  Then the long walk home.  Mike took a break and we had lunch together.

Astrid and I played with the bubble machine in the garden for a while and then we got all the Paw Patrol toys out and made up a rescue game.

Then we went into the garden again to hunt for flowers for Flower Friday.  In my collage you can see a Himalayan Honeysuckle ( also known as a Pheasant Berry ), a Rudbeckia, a Pansy, and a Clematis seed head. Thanks to BikerBear for hosting the challenge.

Then I finished packing and relaxed for a bit before Mike finished work and was free to give me a lift to the railway station.  My train left Northallerton at 5.25pm and around 45 mins later I was in Newcastle.  Has a bit of a wait for a bus home so I popped into the M & S at the station to get a sandwich to eat when I got home.

Unpacked and after having my food I watched TV for a while.   Tino and Lily were happy to see me. Tino had been fine while the Cat Ladies had been here - see Extra collage of some of the photos of him they put on their Facebook page.  They never even saw one glimpse of Lily.

Weather update - another lovely warm and sunny day in Yorkshire.

Leg update.  It hasn't been too bad while Ive been away. The antibiotics and pain killers must be starting to work.  The pain has been a lot less - although it does tend to be worse through the night.
