Ramblings and Mutterings

Handing over

Up at ridiculous o'clock to head to London again.

Major panic when I got to the station car park as I had put my bank card in my trouser pocket for the tube but when I was going to pay for the car parking I couldn't find it. Rang home and thankfully I had dropped it in the house. Phew!

Got to London and the office was relatively quiet. My young padawan was there and we had a meeting first thing where we talked about my tasks with our strategic client director. We went for a walk after that to a vegan coffee shop.

Back to the office and my head of h&s had joined us and then we got down to nitty gritty of how the team is going to function without me there and who reports to who. I must admit I found it extremely difficult to be talking about things and feel like everything I built was being dismantled.

We went to the pub after and I had a zero peroni. Other non-alcoholic beverages are available.

While waiting at the train station I bumped into our investors head of esg and who I've got a good relationship with. We didn't have long to talk as our train was called but he told me that an award submission we had entered with our investor had been stopped by our global business. Our global business were frightened that it would be embarrassing for the rest of the group to see the UK win another award. How childish and petty. Rather than tell us to get back into our box, how about questioning the global head of sustainability delivering nothing in two and a half years and actually tap into the UK's experience to make everyone better. The whole place is toxic and he confirmed it. I know I have made the right decision in not taking that other job and staying.

Got home late and was glad to go straight to bed.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  Good conversations with my young padawan
2.  A quick catch up with our investor's head of esg
