The Old Church
There are two churches in Martindale, St Peter’s at the top of the pass and this one, St Martins in the Dale itself. One of the oldest in the district, it was built in the 1660s to replace the original chapel which was built around 1220.
I had gone over that way to grab a few turf zones but there wasn’t any reception which explains why they are never taken. Good planning Turf!
I also realised that the memory card for my camera was at home stuck in a card reader which really upset me as the scenery around here is so beautiful.
Getting a replacement was out of the question due to price and logistics so I left quite deflated. Getting a normal sd pro card which would work in my camera is impossible in Cumbria as all major retailers had them listed as out of stock throughout the county. The nearest place I could have got one was Curry’s in Dumfries!! :/
Got back to the caravan and watched the test match.
