Cleaning up

Today things did not happen as planned. A phone call from our neighbour who is in the UK at the moment alerted me to the fact there might be a problem in her basement. I went down and found that the floor was awash with water infiltration possibly from underground water courses and run-off from the steep streets. There is mould all over the walls.The neighbour on the other side joined us and we spent the morning mopping up. Another neighbour is going to come round tonight and check with me to see if we can locate the problem more precisely . Our friend, the owner, will have to get the insurance loss adjuster in to see if she is covered. Just about all the furniture and bedding in the room will have to be thrown out. She is coming out in a couple of weeks with all the family, but I cannot think that the room will be habitable.
