Wedding Special

I was feeling a bit jaded this morning, still tired with a sore knee lol

I decided to go & get my groceries in Ramsbottom, with the lure of a nice coffee & bacon barm as my reward afterwards ;-)

I wasn’t planning on going to Lincoln this weekend, need a break from all the driving, especially now it’s the sumner hols too! C is playing a gig here Sunday evening, but I hate not going with him…. he’s in Mablethorpe Saturday night.

Whilst having my coffee I checked out getting over there tomorrow using public transport, as I’ve nothing better to do with my time lol.

End result is leave at 12.15, a walk, a bus, a walk, a tram, a walk, a train, with one change, gets me to Lincoln at 16.55, perfect for C to pick me up en route to the coast :-)!

Feeling better, I decided to pop over to the station for the next steam train as I’d noticed when I parked up, what looked like a wedding party.

Sure enough the train now arriving on the platform is the “Wedding Special” pulling a beautifully refurbed Observation carriage, for the wedding party. Apparently it hadn’t been used for 70 years….typically I didn’t have my proper camera so had to make do with my phone, the zoomed shots are not great :-/

What a day to remember ….. the Bride was definitely an enthusiast, on getting down from the footplate, with the help of 2/3 guests she did a massive “high five” .
Her bridesmaids where all dressed in the cream and maroon colours to recognise the historical railway stations:-)

How lucky to be in the right place at the right time :-)
