A Little The Worse For Wear

After yesterday's butterfly bonanza, today's star part is a Common Blue caught resting on an iris leaf in my garden this afternoon.

A quiet day mostly at home.   Some chores, some bulbs repotted, a run at the ball field for the dogs in the cooler part of a day which started warm and sunny.   Invited round to neighbours in the little close of bungalows where I live, I spent a fair while getting to know them better.  So often our paths cross when I have Meg with me and as they all have dogs too, meetings are noisy and brief!   All were celebrating a significant birthday, relatives from the midlands visiting too.  It was most convivial :-)
