Around the Block

Cristo

The view of Christ The Redeemer statue from our window at 5:50am this morning. We are still adjusting our body clocks and one difference for us here in the Brazilian winter is that the days are nearly three hours shorter than in the summer! Then, the sun is well up by six am. Now, it’s still dark and sunset is at 5:30pm!

Overall, it’s been a day of varying seasons, here in Rio. Lovely bright skies and warming sun this morning as we went up to Stop restaurant for coffee and squashed, toasted bread rolls with melted butter.

Then, the skies grew dull as we worked at our desks in our apartment - Dd marked written tests, so I could do my sessions in situ with my AirPods in.

Later, after a late lunch at Bar Lagoa, we retreated to Típicamente for our first Yahtzee session of the trip which was when the skies opened in a thunderous downpour that lasted well over an hour.

Now, in bed at 9pm, still very early for us, as the body clock adjustments continue.
