Globes
THURSDAY
I was up just after 8:00, still searching for my glasses. I looked everywhere without success—even checked the CCTV to see which pair I was wearing when I went out yesterday.
They eventually turned up in the passenger door pocket of the car! I definitely hadn’t put them there.
After Tuesday’s disappointing bowls performance, I headed down to the green this afternoon for an hour’s practice. Then it was home briefly before setting off again for this evening’s match at Highbury, Prestatyn. The practice must have paid off—I managed a 21–11 win on a fast and bumpy green. The rest of the team also did well with seven winners overall and two points for the aggregate score.
At last, I’ve broken my recent losing streak.
The globe artichokes are thriving in the allotments next to the bowling green in Rhuddlan. The red globe (in the extra) caught my eye on the way back from Prestatyn at 21:15.
