Seven Dials

Today I had a day out with my daughter in London. We had lunch in the Seven  Dials area hence the photo. There are Seven streets radiating from the column. This was made in 1693 when the area was being built and a leading stonemason was commissioned to make it. It actually has only six dials..the seventh being the pillar. Apparently there is a trust which maintains the structure and it did look good. It is an interesting area with lots of little shops and some very old houses. Today there was also a street market.

We then went to a matinee of the Great Gatsby musical at the Colliseum. Very good dancing and singing plus the musicians but I’m not sure about the adaptation of the story.

London was so busy. The Covent Garden area seemed to have lots of hen parties - one group wear8ng fluffy pink cowboy style hats! and groups of teenagers from Spain and France..all wearing a coloured rucksack.

Lots of walking ..over 13,000 steps. I’m glad I went to the chiropodist to have a small corn removed early this morning!g
