Quiz Night
(26/7/25)
Wow, it was so busy today! Thankfully, work was more manageable than yesterday. I still had loads to do, though.
We have secured the services of a workman to fix the path to the entrance to the Lodge. (The wooden frame has sunk over the years.) We were asked to fetch the materials, so we raced out to source 60x90cm concrete blocks and shingles. Travis Perkins came up trumps, but boy, do those slabs weigh a lot. 66kgs a piece. I might have opted for something different if I'd known.
The materials were so heavy, we only managed to come back with one stone and four bags of shingles/Cotswold chippings. G said she felt the weight on the steering wheel. Our neighbours helped us offload the stuff, and then later, we drove them to a pub owned by another neighbour in the park. Wednesday is quiz night. Our team of six did well answering some tough questions, but sadly, we didn't bring home the hamper.
I think there is a plan to go back next Wednesday. :)
I was too tired to look at the few pictures that I had taken when we got back. My collage contains pretty much all of them. I loved the tartan carpet.
