On This Day In History
1921: Scientists successfully isolate insulin

Quote Of The Day
"Insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the world."
(Sir Frederick Banting)

I was planning to go for a 22km run this morning, but when I left home at 07:00 it was already 29 degrees, so I decided to do a 10km run to Ashiya instead. When I got hom one hour later the temperature had already risen to 31 degrees. I think I made the right decision.

The contrast between my running, the zest in the lady in this statue in Ashiya and the schoolboy in the road sign with the video which I watched yesterday evening could not be more stark. I had heard of fentanyl, but I had never heard of xylazine until I watched this video about the homeless situation in Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia yesterday. My God! This is pure horror, like the zombie apocalypse with leprosy. More frightening than anything I have ever seen in any paranormal video. Xylazine rots the flesh off of human bodies, and even causes hands, feet and other extremeties to fall off. Sometimes xylazine addicts are so zombified that they are not even aware that their hands and feet have even fallen off!

I am pretty sure that no school children in Japan, or in many other developed nations, have to walk past dead bodies on their way to school. Is anybody really surprised that nobody wants to visit America anymore? Donald Trump complained about immigrants coming to America from "shithole" nations; I guess those immigrants would feel right at home in the U.S.A., then.

If you're going to shove chemicals into your body, then at least use healthy ones.

UPDATE
Another video by a great guy named Nick Shirley who interviews drug addicts on Kensington Avenue. A terrifying insight into life on the streets, and extremely powerful in the way it gives the addicts a voice. I'm ashamed to say that I was surprised at how intelligent and eloquent some of them sounded. And yet, despite their apparent intelligence, they still choose to get high, fully aware that doing so makes no sense whatsoever. To quote one of the addicts, "Never do drugs, guys. This is not cool. Stay in school. Be something. Be somebody. Don't be out here doing this."

Nick Shirley also interviews some of the schoolkids I mentioned who see dead bodies everyday as they walk to school.

Huge respect to Nick Shirley; everybody needs to know about and learn from this.
