Hooked
A busy day out of nowhere really. A haircut with James who was stunned to see me so soon after my last. I explained the sad circumstances as to why I’d like a mid-cycle bit of grooming. He instantly offered me a whisky. Do I have that look that suggests when I get bad news I need a dram? I suppose that’s just an old Scotsman look.
Then along to an exhibition at the Royal College of Physicians. About the history of addiction. I’d been meaning to go for ages. Someone who’s no longer here would maybe have found it enlightening.
Then to a movie at the Filmhouse. I can report that Screen Three is very decent. As was the movie - The Marching Band. Maybe slightly too much of a French version of the Full Monty, feel good, hearts of gold working class in there, but that’s really a minor quibble. Very entertaining. Offski across the meadows to meet up with Johnny, up again working on his flat. A fine warm evening, so the door of the Argyle was wide open and most inviting. But Hibs were on the TV – playing in Europe?? The world’s gone mad.
