Tea and cake in the garden

It was down to me again this morning to lead the ringing as our tower captain is away. There were just five of us so we just rang simple rounds and call changes. Later in the morning, we went up to see Francoise and friends for tea and cake. This sort of occasional get together has become something of a custom for our English friends to catch up with each other. Francoise is the maire of the tiny mountain village of Py. She virtually has to run the village single-handedly which is a big commitment. She says she will not seek re-election next year but she has done a good job for which I am sure the local residents are grateful. It was lovely to sit out in the garden in such a lovely setting.
